Frequently asked questions

These are the questions studio managers and engineers raise most often before asking us to help. If yours is not covered, the contact page is the quickest way to ask.

  1. What does a studio workflow review involve?

    We look at your signal path, equipment, operating habits and how a programme moves from camera to output. After the assessment you receive a written report listing what to improve and in what order. The review covers your setup as it stands today and does not include supplying or installing equipment.

  2. Do you work with small studios and not just large facilities?

    Yes. Most of our clients are small broadcasters, corporate studios and independent production teams across the UK. Advice is scaled to the room, the crew and the budget you have, and we say so when a modest change would do more than a large purchase.

  3. Can you advise on equipment we already own?

    Yes. Camera planning, lighting advice and control room guidance all start from what you have. We describe how to get more from existing cameras, mixers and cabling, and only recommend new items where the current ones cannot do the job reliably.

  4. What should we prepare before an enquiry?

    A short description of the studio, the equipment list if you have one, and the problem you want solved are enough to begin. Photographs or a simple signal diagram help a great deal. If you are unsure what matters, tell us what you can and we will ask the rest.

  5. How are the training workshops run?

    Workshops last half a day or a full day and are aimed at production crews. Content is agreed beforehand with you, covering broadcast systems and good operating practice relevant to your equipment. Group size and location are settled during the quotation stage.

  6. How do ordering and payment work?

    You send an enquiry through the contact page. We reply with a written quotation or confirmation describing the scope and price. Once you accept, we issue an invoice, which is paid by bank transfer. Nothing is bought or paid for on this website.

  7. Can I cancel or change an order?

    Cancellations and changes follow our payment and refund policy, which sets out what applies at each stage. If your plans shift, tell Thomas as early as you can and he will explain how the policy applies to your particular booking.

  8. Do you promise particular results?

    No. We can describe what we find, what we recommend and what is likely to follow from it, but outcomes depend on your equipment, your crew and decisions made after our report. Our task is to make those decisions clearer and better informed.
